My part-time job
On June 8, Monday when most of my college 2009 batch mates will be leaving early for their first official day as a Teacher in their respective schools I will be, on the other hand, starting a job that I have really looked forward to while being in this present physical state. That is being an ESL Online Tutor to kids ranging from 8-16 years old. Students are from SLP Academy in South Korea. My schedule starts from 2-8 pm, Philippine Time, from Mondays thru Fridays.
Convenience is the reason why I had chosen this job since I have a big belly growing and daily traveling may cause too much pressure. Most importantly, I am just a wall away from my children. Also, our home resources are utilized, that it becomes as a source to generate income for me.
I am excited, nervous and a bit anxious. Although this requires only 4-6 hours of work in a day and mostly it’s just conversational English, I still want to give my best and be the best in this job. It may be simple but I want to get as much learning as I can get in this endeavor. Through this, I intend to build up as well as enhance my own teaching skills should I decide to work in a regular school. But if things turned out well for me as an ESL Tutor, I might decide to put up my own or anything. The possibilities are countless.
